Rebrand with Website Redevelopment & Improved UX to Create an Inbound Marketing Funnel

About BQF

The Premier organisation representing excellence and performance improvement in the UK. Providing training, workshops and accreditationals.

BQF (The British Quality Foundation) is the premier organisation representing excellence and performance improvement in the UK.

To coincide with new leadership under CEO Russell Longmuir, a rebrand and a move to new premises in New Broad Street, London, BQF required a new website to showcase its services, thought leadership and achievements, whilst highlighting member success and appealing to prospective members.

On recommendation, Incisive Edge was invited to present to BQF and was successful in winning the pitch process based on our reputation for complex technical builds, outstanding project management and for delivering both on time and on budget.

Providing a True User Experience

As with so many websites, BQF’s existing site had evolved over the years. Whilst providing value-led content and member services, the site had become unwieldly, both from a user and an internal administration perspective. Moreover, the design was no longer reflective of BQF and its brand.

The design and functional challenge was how to present a huge amount of information in a manner that would appeal to the differing target audiences.

The starting point for the design was to understand those different audiences and how they would journey across the site to provide a true user experience, guided by a user-centric design.

Incisive Edge developed buyer personas to create in-depth user profiles which served as the basis for the design, whilst at all times being conscious of the need to promote the revenue centres of BQF.

The Functionality

As a website, it was important to BQF to incorporate functionality that would work for the organisation and members alike. Accordingly, an advanced Events’ calendar was built, together with the facilities for thought leadership downloads, newsletter registration, social media and meeting room bookings. The site was designed and built to allow future phases of development to be seamlessly integrated.

Keys to Success

On a high profile project such as this, ownership and accountability by Incisive Edge were key factors for success. We ensured communication was high at all stages of the project to enable BQF to meet its launch deadline. Communication, together with dedicated project and account management and outstanding coding were the keys to the success of this site.

I worked closely with the team at Incisive Edge on the BQF site build and found them to be highly responsive, proactive and expert across all aspects of building a complex inbound site.

They explain the development of each aspect in straightforward language so you’re not blinded or confused by science. They make practical recommendations at each stage and always consider the user’s perspective which is integral to an inbound site. They are true inbound experts and we continue to work with them in partnership on site development, tracking and reporting.

The Outcome

The project was delivered to budget and a day ahead of schedule and has received a rapturous reception by members and visitors alike.

Incisive Edge continues to work in partnership with BQF to develop both the site and inbound marketing strategy.

Footnote: BQF’s website was a highly commended finalist in the prestigious 2016 Good Web Guide Awards for Website of the Year, Corporate Category.
